What is the Floating Text System?
The Floating Text System allows administrators to create dynamic text displays and scoreboard leaderboards that appear as floating text in your Minecraft world. These can be used for announcements, showing player statistics, or any other information you want to present visually.
How to Access the Floating Text Menu
To access the Floating Text Menu, open the admin panel and locate "Floating Text".
Floating Text Menu Options
Once you open the Floating Text Menu, you will see three main options:
- New Floating Text: Create a simple floating message.
- New Floating Scoreboard: Create a floating display that shows scores from a scoreboard objective.
- Edit Loaded Texts: Modify or delete existing floating texts or scoreboards that are currently loaded in your world.
New Floating Text
This option allows you to place a custom message anywhere in the world.
- Text to Display: Type the message you want to appear. You can use
\n
to create new lines in your text. - Text Position: Enter the X Y Z coordinates where you want the text to appear. The current location you are standing at will be shown as a default.
After confirming, the floating text will appear at the specified location.
New Floating Scoreboard
This option creates a dynamic display that shows players' scores from a chosen scoreboard objective.
- Scoreboard Objective to Display: Select which scoreboard objective you want to show (e.g., "Money", "Kills", "Deaths"). The menu will list all available objectives.
- Scoreboard Position: Enter the X Y Z coordinates where you want the scoreboard to appear. Your current location will be shown as a default.
- Scores Organization: Choose how the scores should be ordered:
- Ascending: Shows the lowest scores at the top.
- Descending: Shows the highest scores at the top (useful for leaderboards).
- Enumerate Players: Toggle this ON to add numbers (e.g., "1.", "2.") next to each player's name.
- Enumeration Color: Choose the color for the numbers if enumeration is enabled.
- Player Name Color: Choose the color for the players' names.
- Score Color: Choose the color for the scores themselves.
- Number of Listed Players: Use the slider to select how many players (from 1 to 15) should be displayed on the scoreboard.
After confirming, a "LOADING..." text will appear temporarily, which will then update to show the scoreboard data.
Edit Loaded Texts
This option allows you to manage any floating texts or scoreboards that are currently loaded around you in the world.
- You will see a list of nearby floating texts, indicating if they are a
[Text]
or[Scoreboard]
. - Select an entry to either:
- Edit its display text or position (for Floating Texts).
- Edit its objective, position, or display settings (for Floating Scoreboards).
- Delete the floating text or scoreboard permanently.
Important Notes
Coordinates and Position
When entering coordinates, use numerical values for X, Y, and Z. Invalid coordinates will result in an error.
Scoreboard Objectives
When creating a floating scoreboard, ensure that the scoreboard objective you select actually exists and has players with scores, otherwise the display may appear empty or show an error.
Text Colors
The menu provides a wide range of color options using Minecraft's color codes (e.g., §c
for red, §a
for green). You can choose these from the dropdown menus for various parts of your scoreboard display.
Loaded Chunks
The "Edit Loaded Texts" option will only show floating texts and scoreboards that are in currently loaded chunks around you. If you don't see a text you created, try moving closer to its location.
